Blended Seasons

Welcome to my blog. It was a dog show weekend. My dog and I attempt to compete in agility. We're getting better but need more practice . So today I rested and played with the Limited edition stamp and die set Blended Seasons.

I made a card base out of Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut the 8 1/2" X11" piece at 5 1/2 " on the long side. I then folded it in 1/2.(you get 2 card bases )
I cut a piece 4"x5 1/4" from Under the Mistletoe DSP and glued this piece to the front of the card base.

I used scrap cherry cobbler and very vanilla cardstock to die cut the 2 labels using the thinlets from the set.
I stamped and colored the images on the very vanilla cardstock using garden green and cherry cobbler. I then glued it onto the red label and glued onto the card.

Let me know how you like it . Remember this bundle is only available August 1-31.
Also another special starts August 1. BONUS DAYS. For every 50$ you spend you earn 5$ to spend on September(Holiday Catalog launches).

July Specials and Corgi card

July is almost over . 8 days left to take advantage of the DSP special of buy 3 get 1 free( click on order here for ordering and more info). For todays Corgi card I used Natures Poem DSP (one of the selections ) and the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set .
I made a card base using Mint Macaron cardstock. I cut it at 51/2" on the 11" side. This gives you 2 card bases. When folded in 1/2 your card base will be 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
I cut a piece of the DSP 4" x 5 1/4" and glued that on the front.
I stamped the wood image from the Rooted in Nature on a scrap piece of whisper white card stock( first I stamped off then stamped on the white card). I then fuzzy cut it out. I then stamped the sentiment on top. I used Early Espresso ink for both. I glued this to the card front.
I stamped , colored and cut out the Corgi from a set I own(stamps of life carries it). You can put an image of your choice or just have the wood image. Both look great.
Some definitions for those new to paper crafting.
Fuzzy cutting is cutting out with scissors .
DSP is designer series paper.
Stamping off is stamping on a scrap paper then stamp where you want.

Accented Blooms Dog Days of Summer

Finally got a chance to play with the stampset Accented Blooms and to try out the new water color pencils available for purchase August 1.
I made the cardbase using whisper white. I then stamped the image from Accented Blooms  in the left corner and colored with the new water color pencils.
I just had to use my corgi stamp and die(from stamps of life). I colored the corgi with Grape fruit grove. This shows how versatile the Accented Blooms stamp set is. This set works well with other stamps you have.

Garden Impressions DSP meets Bella and friends

The dog days of summer made me think of the beautiful Garden Impression DSP and the little dog Bella.

I made a card base out of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and cut a piece of DSP 4" x 5 1/4".

From the DSP I cut an oval and from a piece of Flirty Flamingo I cut a larger oval.

I glued the DSP to the cardstock and the Flirty Flamingo oval to cover the middle. I then glued the DSP oval on top to get a layered affect.

I cut out another oval from whisper white and stamped Bella using memento black ink. I colored the collar and heart using calypso coral Stampin Blend. I also used some wink of Stella for a little bling.

    Easy stamped card

You can make a card with just a stamp.
I used the tree and sentiment from Rooted in Nature, Mossy Meadow ink and Very Vanilla cardstock. I made my card base using the 81/2 X11 Very Vanilla cardstock cut @ 51/2 . Fold and score. You will get 2 card bases. I stamped the sentiment in the corner with the mossy meadow ink. I then stamped 3 trees using the same ink color. I only inked the stamp once then stamped 3 times to get the images on the card. I like how it came out and will try with other stamps. Challenge for you ,give it try! Thank you Karen Titus for the idea.

    Flash card 1

When I think of flash card I think of my days when I taught. Kids used them as learning tool to learn things quickly.  These flash cards are for making cards quickly by prepping your card stock ahead of time. It is a technique introduced by Connie Stewart . The card stock layers are prepared in advance so that you just need to pull the colors you want to use. These are the cutting directions:
You then will have layering pairs

Here is a card I made using this technique. I used the returning stamp set Hanging Garden, Berry Burst ink, very vanilla card stock and lemon lime twist cardstock. I also colored the foliage with stamping blends I have. You can order from my web site . Click link to the right.
